The core ambition of the project, born from an interaction design course, was to craft something eternal in our super fast moving digital landscape.

• Core Idea: The project seeks to create a sense of permanence and continuous renewal in the digital realm by drawing inspiration from religious traditions, specifically the inherent daily renewal of constant cycle within religious traditions. This mirroring of a continuous loop found in religious practice was “key” for the project’s ambition.
• Data Source: The project uses the Christian calendar of saints as its living breathing data source, presenting a different figure each day. This concept is highlighted as beautifully simple, really a constant flow of fresh content but like deeply rooted in ancient tradition.
• Connection to Medieval Tradition: The project explicitly connects to the medieval tradition of patron saints where specific holy people were tied to specific days and held this special meaning for communities. This connection is seen as a powerful echo of that historical practice.
• Technology Used: The project utilizes Touch Designer, a visual Node based software. Its crucial feature is flexibility, allowing creators to mix all sorts of media and data really smoothly, which was essential for the eternal display to pull in the Saint info and generate the visuals dynamically.
